The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. – Lao Tzu
Laura stumbled upon yoga five years ago while seeking a means to improve her flexibility and strength, and ease the pain in her knees years of biking and running. Along with the many physical benefits she found a practice that inspired her mind-body, heart and spirit.
The simple beauty of yoga is that we can all start practicing at any point in our lives regardless of age, experience or physical abilities. Laura believes that with patience and kindness toward ourselves we can open up to the possibility of transformation on and off the mat, living with greater integrity, compassion, mindfulness and peace.
To deepen her knowledge of the philosophy and science of yoga Laura completed a 200-hour teacher training under the gifted guidance of Lourdes Paredes and Pam Udell. She is grateful for the opportunity to share the benefits and wisdom of yoga with others. Her path to teaching continues to unfold through ongoing practice and study, and is influenced by her background in social work. She is deeply thankful for the constant inspiration and support she receives from her family, friends, fellow students, teachers and the larger yoga community.
